Dr. Rob Tagher took giving back to a whole new level after completing a 100-mile run in freezing temperatures, waist-deep water and thick mud last weekend for charity.
The Florence pediatrician completed the Indiana Trail 100, the state’s only 100-mile ultramarathon, at the Chain O’ Lakes State Park in Albion on April 21 to benefit the Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center, which offers services that respond to the concerns of child abuse.
“His determination as a runner mirrors his passion in ensuring the children in Northern Kentucky are safe and protected,” NKYCAC Executive Director Vickie Henderson said. “NKYCAC has been truly blessed by Dr. Rob's commitment to our center and the work we do every day.”
In the April issue of NKY Family Magazine, on page 7, is an article on Dr. Robert Tagher and his goal to run 100 miles and raise funds for the Northern Kentucky Children's Advocacy Center and raise awareness regarding child abuse. April is the National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
After serving the Community Foundation of Northern Kentucky and its predecessor organization for more than 16 years as president and board chair, Charlene Erler has turned over the gavel to Steve Crawford, who is a long time board member and previously served as treasurer of the board.
April is National Child Abuse Awareness Month and the Northern Kentucky Children's Advocacy Center has joined other organizations across the nation by adopting the pinwheel as the symbol for Child Abuse Awareness Month in April. Help us to raise awareness that child abuse is a serious and prevalent public health problem in Northern Kentucky and children have a right to grow up in safe and loving homes!
