Many caring individuals choose to leave something of value to a charitable organization when preparing their will, trust or other estate plans. Friends for Life is a family of donors who have made financial provisions in their estate plans so the Community Foundation’s legacy of compassionate care and vital work will continue far into the future.
There is a false assumption that estate planning is only for the wealthy. A more accurate fact is that the more modest one’s estate, the greater the need to plan carefully. With a proper estate plan, you can adequately maximize assets for your loved ones and for charities of your choice, while minimizing tax consequences.
By joining Friends for Life, you are leaving a significant message for your family and the community about your values – how you wish to leave the world a better place. We daily enjoy shade from trees we didn’t plant – those who came before us cared enough to enhance our lives today. We should do no less. When you become a member of Friends for Life, you are expressing your long-term commitment to helping thousands of individuals and their families well into the 21st Century!
Purchasing a brick or bricks in the Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center Garden is a favorite way to express appreciation for someone or something special. Inscribe the name of your family on a brick or one in memory of someone or something special… a loved one, friend, or business; or you may recognize a special occasion such as an anniversary or birth. Your brick serves as a lasting expression of your love, honor and respect while supporting the work of Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center. The brick walkway encircles the garden at the entrance of Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center, which is a beautiful, serene setting with lush greenery. Bricks measuring 4” x 8” have three lines available for inscription. Those measuring 8” x 8” have six lines for inscription.
Between 25 and 30 million Americans suffer from hearing loss. Less than half of those who could benefit from hearing aids have them. Why? Very few insurance plans, including Medicare, cover the cost of hearing aids. Hearing aids are very expensive, costing up to $2,500 each. Those with hearing loss who can’t afford hearing aids miss out on much of the world. You can help by donating to our hearing aid bank at Speech and Hearing of Northern Kentucky. If you or someone you know has hearing aids that are no longer in use, please consider donating them. Hearing aids in good condition are made available to individuals with hearing loss that demonstrate financial need. As some hearing aids need repair, we accept donations to defray the cost of repairing the hearing aids.
